About

The Quarrier Diner was built in the 1940's and was extremely successful until the 90's. The Diner closed around 2000 and was idle for about 10 years. The Diner was close to being destroyed when in 2011 the Pollitt Family purchased, renovated, and brought the Quarrier Diner back to life! The Diner is now on the National Historical Preservation List.
- The Quarrier Diner is built on the site of the old Twin Diner, at 1022 Quarrier Street, Charleston
- "Oil" Young Got a job trying an selling hamburgers at Litton's dog wagon in Charleston
- Later His Brother, Homa Young, got a similar job in the same place.
  
  Proprietorship in the restaurant business for the two brothers began when they bought the old Empire Diner at 194 Summers street in 1926. Their original piece of business had a seating capacity of ten
- In 1982 they purchase a new stool diner and located it as a vacant job at 1022 Quarrier Street
  
  Originally named the Quarrier Diner, the name was changed to Twin Diner following no expansion and remodeling in 1936. In September, 1945 the owners closed the Twin Diner, vacated the lot which they had previously purchased, and begun construction of the present establishment
