-the "diavolo" is the devil so the name implies a certain spicy hot to this dish of plump mussel with tomato, garlic, wine, olive oiland stale wave hill bread. (wave hill doesn't deliver fresh bread to the devil).
lightly coated, lightly stuffed with a little ricotta and basiland lightly pan-fried in used-only-once fresh olive oil. (Those looking for the puffy, heavily-stuffed, deep-fried-in-old-grease version of this dish may wish to consider something else).
