The Scene
At first, the decor may seem formulaic even generic, but a quiet elegance somehow inhabits this restaurant's dining room. Bits of trivia keep your mind alert while pictures from different countries add an international twist to each brightly colored matching table.
The Food
Chinese food can sometimes be overly oily, but Szechuan's offerings are notably grease-free. General Tso's Chicken is deliciously crunchy and as exactly as spicy as you order it. Paul's Choice, a concoction of snow peas, broccoli and mushrooms with chicken, pork, beef or seafood in a special sauce, is especially tasty with shrimp and scallops. The most expensive dish, Neptune's Catch in Bird's Nest, is worth the extra dollars. This dish-to-die-for combines chicken, scallops, shrimp, vegetables and brown sauce in a cleverly conceived potato basket.
