The Scene
Since opening in 2001, this shrine to the beloved NBC program ''Cheers'' has been drawing tourists away from the original Beacon Hill location; with its replica bar and museum, there's more to see here. Thanks to reasonable prices and expansive seating, this is one of the more comfortable dining-drinking options in the Quincy Market area. Friendly servers are pleased to snap a photo for the folks back home.
The Food
Standard American fare dominates the lengthy menu, with a slight bent toward local favorites (baked scrod, baked beans). While there are steaks and salads available, most patrons smartly opt for simpler fare like the hearty Turkey Gobbler sandwich (roasted turkey with walnut stuffing and cranberry sauce) or the gargantuan Norm burger (a pound of beef topped with Muenster cheese, mushrooms and onion rings). Those diners with room left over should opt for an inviting slice of--surprise--Boston Cream pie.
