The Scene
Picture a nondescript section of St. Pete; a typical oriental restaurant--wood-paneled walls and simple wooden tables without cloths; stems of fresh orchids provide a wild purple and yellow rainbow to tables set very close together.
The Food
It's typical Thai, but so fresh, fresh, fresh--and expertly prepared.
What to Order
You won't find anything bad on the restaurant's extensive menu. Start with the tofu soup, a winsome broth with crunchy veggies, tofu and mushrooms. Also enjoyable--the Double Delight: shrimp and chicken prepared with baby corn, mushrooms, onion and snow peas; the veggies ''snap'' when you bit into them; the sauce is a complex mixture of chilis and spice that's just hot enough. And any one of the lunch specials is a treat and a bargain. And please do order dessert: Fried ice cream with raspberry sauce, a ball of cold ice cream fried in a ''skin'' and topped with sauce, is outstanding.
