The Scene
The televisions that dot the perimeter are always tuned to sporting events, but it's not overkill on the sports scene. With a few shelves of sports memorabilia for sale, two pool tables and a handful of video games it has the sports flavor but it's a place the non-sports lover can also enjoy.

The Food
The Ale House is proud of its raw bar featuring clams on the half shell or steamed ($7.95 a dozen), oysters ($6.95 a dozen) and shrimp ($8.95 half pound). But don't be afraid to try their always improving seafood entrees ($9.95) or burgers ($5.95).

What to Order
Just about all the seafood is good, and it comes prepared in all your favorite ways (fried, breaded, broiled, blackened, grilled, over pasta and of course raw.) If you're looking for a quick hit or a take out, try their signature zingers (boneless chicken wings) in one of eight sauces.

What to Skip
Their new menu addition, jambalaya, is decent but it won't do much to remind you of New Orleans.
