The Scene
It's a spectacle to behold: Every wall, table and shelf is chock-full of you-name-it: glass art, posters and knickknacks of endless variety. Diners come to have a good time, ensuring a constant buzz. Servers smile and hustle, but the wait can still be a long one.
The Food
There's something refreshing about a restaurant that breaks all the fashionable downtown dining rules and instead serves ''something for everyone.'' Pizza, pasta, eight different seafood entrees, chicken, steak--the list goes on. Basics, like the outstanding meat loaf wrapped in bacon and topped with molasses gravy, or the iceberg salad with chunks of bacon, hazelnuts and egg get top marks. Skip anything that seems overly fancy in favor of comfort-food sides, such as macaroni and cheese or a big stack of onion rings.
An oasis in city dining, this downtown Seattle location is whimsical in nature and comfortable without being boring. Icon Grill's "aroused Americana" menu showcases the higher quality ingredients in a sophisticated yet simple manner.
