Congenial service, adventurous global cuisine and a warm atmosphere make this a favorite Belltown haunt.
The Scene Singles sit at a bar that runs nearly the depth of the room; couples and groups of 20- to 50-somethings huddle around candlelit tables. Summertime draws crowds to the enchanting covered patio in back. Servers weave by inconspicuously.
The Food The chef advocates a spin-the-globe menu approach that produces Southern smoked pork loin, Indian-spiced lamb shank, Jamaican jerk chicken and Thai-sauced ahi. There's much to recommend, including the appetizer of fried sage leaves with three dipping sauces; a salad of prawns, couscous and grilled asparagus in a sensational preserved-lemon vinaigrette; the smoked pork loin with accompanying salty, spicy sauteed greens and cool onion marmalade. If you have any room left, try the pecan-studded bread pudding.
