House Of Prime Rib
SAN FRANCISCO, CA
Happiest Food Coma Ever I love HOPR. Start with a shaker full of martini in their firelit lounge while you wait for your table. Try your best to avoid the sourdough bread on the table which will only take valuable space away from the rest of your meal - fail, and then fail again. Be sure to ask for whatever horseradish you like, they offer a few types at the table, but have fresh grated, grated in vinegar and more in the kitchen if you ask. I also adore the salad, but always ask for half the dressing, and that is still more than enough. With the extra slice of beef they will give you if you are still hungry after finishing yours, I have never had room for dessert. If anyone has ever tried it, please review. It might be worth an even stronger attempt to skip the bread. Reviewed on 07/20/2007

Firefly
SAN FRANCISCO, CA
Always a comfort Firefly is one of those great places to have in your backpocket when someone asks for a recommendation, or you need a place for anything from a first date, an anniverary or a work dinner. The food is familiar and comfortable but with a twist that always keeps you interested. The menu changes weekly, but this is a place with two signature dish, the potstickers and the fried chicken and both are amazing. Reviewed on 07/20/2007

The Tonga Room
SAN FRANCISCO, CA
Happy Hour - kitsch included I am not a huge fan of the Tonga room, yet I seem to end up there for Happy Hour once a year or so. There are fruity drinks and a buffet of small, slightly greasy, pupu platter type bites. But there is a band playing on a boat in the middle of a 'lake' and a rainshower every half hour and there is something about the place that makes it almost okay that the food is slightly greasy and the drinks always leave you with a sugar slicked tongue and a marching band in your head the next morning. I didn't know they even had a menu, so the real restaurant food could probably use a few more reviews. Reviewed on 07/20/2007
