In Short Colorful ceramic dishes and ironwork mirrors evoke the Mediterranean countryside at this small, walk-up cafe. University students and others from the neighborhood sit like sardines at half a dozen tables, but are happy to do so for the inexpensive hummus menu. Three freshly made variations--tahini-style, warmed masabacha with whole chickpeas, and Foul with fava beans--can come solo or in complete meals with fresh mint tea or hand-squeezed lemonade, pickles, pita bread and cucumber salad.
