Good food for a fast food joint. Meat portions are rather small. Everything tastes very fresh....read more

The Scene
Sturdy chairs and tall, window-facing counter seats with a view of a plaza make Qdoba an easy dining experience for groups or loners. The room full of hard surfaces amplifies noise, though, so screaming kids will seem twice as loud. If peace is your number one concern, take your meal outside.

The Food
Unusual sauces make Qdoba stand out from other burrito places in town. Try the chicken mole or the shredded beef as a base for a burrito, a soft taco or a burrito-minus-tortilla, with all the ingredients served in a bowl. It's easier to eat that way, though some would argue a lot less fun.

The procedure is the same as at most burrito places--pick a meat, augment it with some other ingredients and choose a sauce or two. You'll have to decide between cheese and sour cream here, unless you want to pay extra for both. (Hard to tell if that's a cost-saving measure or a paternalistic fat-watching rule.)

The guacamole is higher quality than you'd expect from a fast food place. Try it on chips alongside a burrito, but don't expect to be able to finish it all. Portions are monstrous.
