In Short
Built by former lumber tycoon David Whitney, the Whitney is a 21,000-square-foot mansion of elegance and extravagance. Patrons dine in one of the estate's 52 rooms, the scene is both romantic and glamorous, and the elegance of the setting is matched only by the cuisine. The prix-fixe menu is recommended, as is the Russian caviar service. After dinner, patrons make their way up to the third-floor lounge for live entertainment and dessert.
