Buddy's is a Detroit institution (''since 1946''). It's loud and family-friendly, with TVs everywhere, and serves distinguished, if not risky, pizza; the furthest away from traditional it gets is the gourmet vegetarian pizza with cauliflower and broccoli. The unusual crust is one reason Buddy's delights; it's barely there and yet crisp as can be. A wide range of fried appetizers, homemade soups, burgers, sandwiches and pastas is also available.
