The Scene
The Prime Rib calls itself ''the civilized steakhouse'' with just cause: The epitome of timeless elegance, dining here is an occasion worth anticipating. Black and gold-lacquered walls, leather chairs, elaborate flowers and piano music evoke times gone by when dining was a remarkable experience.
The Food
Although the seafood variety is outstanding, it's the ''aged to perfection'' beef that has sealed the Prime Rib's fame. The namesake cut is a colossal chunk of prime rib, always cooked to perfection that barely fits on the plate. Lamb chops are juicy and perfectly seasoned. The crab imperial does Baltimore's mascot proud, while the lobster bisque is thick and rich. Even the mashed potatoes, though they pale in comparison to a succulent filet or swordfish steak, are done just right.
