The Scene
Yellow walls with blue-green trim. Red flamingo lamps placed on shelves above dinette sets. Tacky teacup chandeliers with candle-shaped lightbulbs. As soon as you enter beneath the grotesque 5-foot-tall caricature heads of the Hon Girls, you know you're in Hon Territory. At least the waitresses don't look like the scary women on the menus!
The Food
Cafe Hon serves the kind of food mom used to make, only better. Large portions of meatloaf, pork chops, chicken Parmesan, crab cakes and salmon taste home-cooked. Practically everything comes with real mashed potatoes or famous Hon fries--don't miss them topped with chili, cheese and onions. Cold, hot and grilled sandwiches and burgers are also available.
