The Scene
Eclectic doesn't adequately describe Holy Frijoles' decor. Each location in this chain strives to look different, both from the norm and from the other outlets. Most of the furniture doesn't match. Chili pepper lights adorn the walls, as do funky paintings and scads and scads of orange. The place can get cramped, but the grub makes up for the lack of space.

The Food
Frijoles' food is some of the best Mexican in Baltimore. Start with crunchy taquitos or mile-high, loaded nachos and work your way toward an enchilada or fajita, both with your choice of filling. As they say, ''Everything is vegetarian--unless there's meat in it.'' The football-size burritos are packed to bursting with your favorite filling, served with perfectly seasoned beans and rice.
