The Scene
This hidden gem, located just around the corner from the Central Square T stop, provides young Cambridge residents with an upbeat and congenial hangout. The atmosphere is decidedly Irish, with an endless amount of authentic knickknacks and a modern Irish/British soundtrack. The door's 21-plus policy keeps the undergraduate crowd away, so expect a laid-back pack of casually dressed 20- and 30-somethings.
The Draw
Other than drinking, there isn't a whole lot to do in the main front room, which is fine with the bar's many regulars. A smaller side room contains the requisite pool table, dart board and TV, but it gets pretty crowded (and smoky) at night. Friendly bartenders, many sporting thick brogues, pour more than a dozen beers on tap, including several hard-to-find varieties like Bellhaven and Carlsberg. A small kitchen churns out hearty burgers and greasy fries until 9pm.
