The Scene
Wall to wall murals of notable Italian scenes bear down on tables that, for once in the North End, aren't packed in like sardines. Gold toned walls and lots of greenery take the edge off the large dining room, where muted conversations (some in Italian) waft over piped-in opera. The waitstaff is well-informed and rightfully enthusiastic about the glorious menu.

The Food
Homemade limoncello liquor is featured in several dishes, from appetizers to dessert, and then offered up as a chilled aperitif. Favorites include a starter of sauteed scallops, sweet with a spicy citrus finish, and linguine with a limoncello cream sauce. A stuffed artichoke heart appetizer lives up to its signature status. Pass over less exciting dishes like the fontina-stuffed chicken for innovative pasta like linguine with black squid ink. A must-try dessert: Tartufo limoncello, a heavenly ball of lemon gelato rolled in meringue sprinkles with a core of frozen limoncello.
