In Short
Local couples and Boston University undergrads fill Grasshopper's nondescript dining room to select from an epic menu of Pan-Asian vegetarian specialties, many of which employ textured vegetable proteins. The wheat gluten (''chicken style,'' according to the menu) can be found in many sauces, from Chinese to Vietnamese or Thai. Natural veggie dishes (spicy Chinese eggplant with shiitake mushrooms and crunchy bamboo shoot slivers) prove popular.
