The Scene
The martini-bar setting absorbs the South End/Back Bay crowd comfortably, with a lengthy wooden bar and bar tables. Service is attentive, even when things get busy.

The Food

Pay no heed to the menu's claim to ''tapas,'' which should denote mini-plates. Instead, these dishes are full-sized affairs--enough to fill one adult for dinner--and undeniably cheap. Upscale comfort food predominates the menu. Witness the pulled pork sandwich with apple ketchup and revel in the exquisite example of yin-yang tastes--the sweet-salty balance is that spot-on. And don't miss the cookie of the day; it ranges from chewy chocolate chip to soft, cinnamony oatmeal versions.
