The Scene
Diners whet their appetites with a stop by the fish tanks in the entrance--they're brimming with conch, slithering eels and gigantic crabs. Upon ordering any of the house specialties, chances are the waiter will pluck the fish straight from the tank and bring it to the table for the final go-ahead before it hits the sizzling wok. Quiet, dutiful servers ensure water glasses stay filled.
The Food
The seafood specials are quite delicious and, judging by the hordes of Chinese ex-pats munching away, authentically prepared. The Alaskan King Crab, though pricey, is a real treat: Dusted with cornstarch and then pan-fried with a delicate scallion-ginger sauce, the result is exceptional. Other great seafood specials include the conch with black bean sauce and any of the whole steamed-fish dishes. Landlubbers stick to familiar stir-fries and dishes like salted chicken (roasted in salt, yielding notably moist meat).
