Talk to any Mexican food aficionado in Boston, and they'll tell you that Angela's is the revelation Boston has been waiting for. The tiny Eastie enclave is home to Angela Atenco Lopez, a grandmotherly chef from Puebla who whips up genuine Mexican comfort food in the restaurant's open kitchen. Though it doesn't look like much from the street, the red-and-yellow interior is colorful and warm, abundant with streamers and Mexican knickknacks. Angela's menu includes standbys like chicken enchiladas, chile relleno and sopa Azteca, plus a chunky guacamole that's to die for. Be sure to check out the chalkboard over the kitchen, offering a list of daily specials.
