Chris Douglass, chef-owner of the South End's beloved Icarus, opened the Ashmont Grill near lower Dorchester Avenue. Afternoon menus include affordable, upscale comfort fare like house-cured pastrami Reubens. Area singles fill a modern bar and nibble on grilled pizzas, while dinnertime patrons enjoy entrees--none of which top $20--like St. Louis-style BBQ pork ribs and wild mushroom lasagna. An attractive backyard patio provides cool summer breezes.
