Boston University undergrads and athletes make the short trek up the street for satisfying sandwiches and a mean slice of pizza.

The Scene
If Boston University's athletic department had an official caterer, T. Anthony's would be the obvious choice-and not just for its convenience (BU's athletic department is just down Babcock Street). Photos of BU stars from all sporting endeavors grace the walls. A shiny, high-tech jukebox sticks out among the diner-esque booths. Local laborers, from cops to construction workers, are the early-bird regulars, but the late-night crowd belongs to BU students noshing on brain food.

The Food
Eggs ''any way you like 'em'' are the breakfast specialty of the house, available all day. Lunch patrons favor an expanded menu of designer wraps like the Fenway, fittingly made of grilled Italian sausage, onions and peppers. Subs, from meatball to chicken salad, are reliable, but for the picky, customized club sandwiches are the way to go. Tasty thin-crust pizza arrives smothered in a slightly sweet tomato sauce and ample amounts of cheese.-
