The Scene
Thanks to an extensive $3 million renovation, Turner Fisheries has an environment worthy of the aged scotch and $30 dishes favored by the upstairs Copley Westin's guests. Many diners come straight from the nearby Hynes Convention Center (or their beds) to slink into designer banquettes, some of which have views of Copley Square. When the Dow's had a particularly good day, broker types stop by the gorgeous lounge to down designer martinis or selections from the pricey, varied wine list.
The Food
Despite all the glitz, Turner's focus remains on super-fresh seafood, most of which arrives daily from all corners of the globe. If available, try the monkfish, served osso buco-style--on the bone and in a smoky broth. Other can't-miss items include award-winning clam chowder and flights of rare oysters. Liquor-spiked Jell-O shots and gourmet s'mores are just two of the whimsical, delectable desserts available.
Turner Fisheries, is conveniently located in Boston's historic Back Bay. Voted Boston's "Best Clam Chowder," by Boston Magazine and awarded " Best Seafood Restaurant" by Boston's People's Choice Awards, Executive Chef Chris Masco takes pride in delivering fresh, creative and classic seafood creations daily. The restaurant itself boasts seven-foot high French Café windows that overlook Copley square, and includes Italian terrazzo tiled floors, Hollywood-style banquettes, and floor-to-ceiling mahogany paneling. Turner Fisheries also features three private dining rooms accommodating up to 140 people.
