The Scene
Arlington's savvy eaters have embraced Scutra. Extended families (grandparents down to babes in arms) gather for special occasions, couples enjoy the romantic surroundings, and friendly foursomes remember their favorite meals in Europe. Knowledgeable servers are relaxed but efficient.

The Food
Peek through the picture window before you enter to see chef/owner Didier Baugniet in his impeccable kitchen. His showmanship follows through in beautifully plated, robust dishes. Creamy goat cheese mingles with herbs to dress a grilled portobello salad. Perfectly braised spinach in a crispy eggroll wrapper makes a punchy East-West appetizer. Dark-meat chicken with vegetables in a port and orange sauce is deep, rich and surprisingly unpretentious. Seafood fans should order the bright and flavorful cioppino, laced with shredded fennel and piled high with scallops, mussels, salmon, shrimp, and swordfish. Desserts tend to be creamy and chocolate, such as a three-layer mousse pairing hazelnut with dark and white chocolates.
