The Scene
According to legend, a tall blue beast with large antlers was spotted wandering the streets in Prairie Village. Supporting this tale, a blue moose head hangs on the restaurant's wall above the brick fireplace. The rustic aura is reminiscent of a log cabin with its lantern-style lighting and wood walls and floor. Sample the Antler Ale at the bar, and catch the latest sports on a wide screen TV.
The Food
From gourmet to classic American, the homemade style menu is presented promptly and harmoniously. Don't be deceived by the odd-sounding fried pickles. Thinly sliced, they are dipped in a golden beer batter and served with scrumptious roasted garlic dipping sauce. Huge pizzas with handmade crusts are browned to perfection, topped with basil pesto, three cheeses and choice of meat. The grilled strip steak, not desirably tender, is served with creamy potatoes and sauteed green beans. Artichoke hearts, penne pasta and basil cream sauce make the pesto chicken pasta a delightful choice.
