The Scene
Walk into Wildfish, and you're caught up in an urban sushi illusion: minimal and hip in red, green and wood, with a sushi bar and groovy private booths separated by wood blinds. You'd never know you're in a shopping arcade in Arlington Heights.
The Food
Sushi showmanship rises to a new level; these presentations of ''contemporary sushi'' are nothing short of spectacular. Purists may quiver, but the creative maki (fab blends of flavors and textures like spicy scallop with tempura crunch; eel over lobster tempura; tuna over soft shell crab) are exciting, flavorful, and a welcome change--and as fresh as can be. The menu goes on and on, and almost every dish--from noodle salad with orange miso to soft-shell crab and freshwater eel wrapped in yellowfin tuna and set aflame in Bacardi 151--is a whopping hit. Nice sake selection, too.
