The Scene
A warren of dark, swanky rooms bustles with patrons of Northbrook Court, as much date and family dining destination as shopper's pit stop. Modern Italian decor in chocolate browns and blues sets an upscale-casual mood. Service is earnest but scattered when busy, and vague on menu details.

The Food
Italian seafood preparations are surprisingly few on this eclectic menu of salads, burgers and sandwiches, Asian treatments, roast chicken and steaks. To start, a fan of artichoke leaves is lightly, simply dressed with olive oil, balsamic and crumbled Parmesan. Crispy shrimp manifests as a tasty mound of lightly breaded, seared shrimp tossed in a spicy mayo-based dressing. Signature hot & crunchy tilapia is nut-crusted in an unusual sesame-almond mixture with a lingering burn, but prime New York strip with Parmesan crust is a juicy, tangy satisfier. Afterwards, citrus-laced panna cotta jiggles beckoningly and delivers creamy goodness.
