The Scene
Fluted stained-glass chandeliers cast a glow on tables overlooking the bustling street, and exposed brick, white linen on candle-topped tables and dark-wood seating exude warmth. Local middle-aged professionals and couples chat while taking in the view through French doors, which let in summery breezes. The cozy, adjacent lounge is a great place to sip wine or slurp a martini before your meal.
The Food
Inventive American dishes pair artful presentation with comforting ingredients. Tender, flash-fried calamari with crispy parsley, creamy tomato fondue and basil oil is a twist an old favorite. Spinach salad with julienned Granny Smiths, candied pecans, Amish blue cheese and sweet Vidalia onion vinaigrette is farmers' market fresh. Earthy, truffle-dusted halibut resides atop gnocchi, crimini mushrooms and spinach in rich tomato-brandy sauce, while grilled beef tenderloin shines alongside potatoes Anna and balsamic-lacquered veggies with spicy chipotle-punched bearnaise sauce.
