The Scene
At the buzzing intersection of Clark and Foster, this spacious sushi bar and restaurant is all about cool, casual sophistication: Stainless-steel panels gleam under pinpoint lights, while bare exposed-brick walls and dark hardwood floors amp up the urban-chic vibe. The crowd is a neighborhood mix--couples on dates and with kids--all noshing on elaborate sushi rolls to a soundtrack of ambient electronic tunes.
The Food
For a neighborhood joint, the menu is surprisingly extensive; nearly two dozen starters range from typical edamame and seaweed salad to more exotic fare like broiled squid and fried oysters in teriyaki sauce. Nigiri selections include multiple kinds of tuna, yellowtail, scallop and flounder; daily specials list intriguing maki combinations like the Green Bay, with soft-shell crab, cucumber and avocado with spicy sauce, and a meaty lobster roll. The menu also features soup bowls and bento box combinations with teriyaki and tempura items.
