In Short
The neighborhood's beloved Meritage is gone; in its place, this far more ambitious modern restaurant. Black walnut is the choice material--from floors to tables to walls--a background that emphasizes gutsier choices like matte gunmetal walls, futuristic Konstantin Grcic stools and translucent chairs. The menu breaks into small and large plates: The former recently featured a bracing beet, feta, almond and mint salad, and the latter a braised pork butt counterbalanced with assertive puttanesca ingredients. A very stylish crowd doesn't mind waiting for communal seating.
