The Scene
Floor-to-ceiling front windows that open onto the sidewalk in the summertime invite passersby into this warm neighborhood spot. Inside, reddish hues dominate the color scheme with tiny crimson tiles shimmering behind the bar; opposite, a mirrored wall adds depth to the narrow space. Salsa and other Latin tunes play at conversation-friendly levels, though when the dining room is full, hearing can be challenging.

The Food
The menu offers Nuevo Latino cuisine with a focus on presentation. Starters include three plump, flaky empanadas served with tangy chimichurri sauce, tender fire-grilled octopus, and cilantro-laced red snapper seviche. Pollo al limon, a juicy, golden citrus-marinated half chicken, and the tender, flavorful churrasco strip steak (also with chimichurri) are favorites among meat entrees; chile relleno--un-battered, fire roasted, poblano pepper stuffed with spinach and cheese--sates vegetarian palates. For dessert, Torre de Cajeta: a tower of caramelized milk mousse, sponge cake and chocolate and cajeta sauces.
