Set in a contemporary space in River West, this restaurant is a neighborhood favorite. Artfully presented New American fare focuses on fresh, in-season ingredients. Grilled venison loin chops and pistachio-crusted venison leg is accented by pumpkin puree, chive spaetzle and lingonberry sauce. For dessert: rich, banana cream pie with chocolate shavings. The front room features a rustic wood-topped bar on one side, and banquettes, low leather couches and cubes next to a stacked flagstone wall on the other. The dining room's floor-to-ceiling windows and diaphanous white curtains lend elegance, while seagull photographs add a touch of whimsy.
