The Scene
The exquisite attention to detail in the remodeling of this former Lincoln Avenue funeral home extends from the lobby's mosaic tiling to the restrained Celtic designs in the second story leaded glass windows. A stylish central bar looking straight out of an upscale Dublin hotel is flanked by a formal dining room, with another upstairs. For seating, choose a relaxed banquette or a spacious white tablecloth-covered four top.
The Food
The restaurant's contemporary Irish menu reimagines the traditional with flair, like the crumbly lamb sausage appetizer roasted with fingerling potatoes and Morbier cheese on a cedar plank. A crispy layer of white cheddar covers thick onion soup flavored with the light, malty taste of Guinness. The shepherd's pie is a stewy mix of tender diced lamb, crusted potatoes, and caramelized onions. Flaky grilled trout comes on a bed of braised cabbage with a side of, yes, more potatoes.
