The Scene
Chocolate tones and retro lamps dominate the ground-level bar, where downtown workers sip from a menu of martinis, wines and cognacs. Downstairs, a vaulted ceiling and dark-wood paneling contribute to the feeling that diners have entered an elegant wine cellar. Side nooks decked out in orange paint offer privacy for a more intimate experience.
The Food
Freshly caught seafood does most of the talking: lump crab meat with just a smattering of breadcrumbs comprises the crab cake appetizer, while a starter of grilled shrimp gets some heat from chipotle butter, corn, tortilla strips and black beans. A signature mixed-grill entree is a filling combo of salmon, spiced-up scallops and shrimp, plus one plump crab cake. The seared scallops entree is treated generously with butter and served with creamy lobster risotto. A separate menu page lists a rotating line up of fresh catches such as king salmon and rainbow trout.
