The Scene
Pink and brown tones lend a Parisian feel to this petite storefront, which attracts a foodie following. Those waiting for tables congregate around a central bar to sip wine or peruse the menu; some just sneak dessert on the fly. Diners-in-waiting settle into white linen-topped tables under atmospheric chandelier lighting while Frenchie tunes waft through the space. Service is enthusiastic, if a bit hit-or-miss.
The Food
Chef-owner David Richards' seasonal menu takes cues from French bistro fare, but adds a few twists. Extra-creamy risotto with zucchini, lemon zest and yellow grape tomatoes pops with summery goodness. Curried potato vichyssoise topped with creme fraiche is rich, yet still refreshing. Grilled pork tenderloin--dressed with zesty pomegranate barbecue sauce--hints at backyard barbecues and comes with a side of dilled red potato salad. For dessert, tart Lemoncello cheesecake with raspberry coulis leaves diners on cloud nine.
