In Short
There's a loft-like feel to this theatrical, bi-level wood beam and exposed brick dining room that fills nightly with a mix of sophisticated foodies, suits and in-the-know out-of-towners. Those on the mezzanine level overlook the tables and banquettes below. The menu emphasizes seasonal ingredients, which could mean curried cauliflower and lobster chowder garnished with medallions of poached lobster, melted leeks and a whirl of parsley oil. Butternut squash ravioli with Parmigiano and cinnamon-scented root veggies could follow. The cake and shake, layered buttermilk chocolate cake with a malted vanilla milkshake, is retro whimsy.
