The Scene
Located on the ground floor of a Roscoe Village apartment building, this cozy restaurant draws a neighborhood crowd seeking Mediterranean flavors. The narrow dining room has a bar to the left, while comfortably spaced tables hug the opposite wall. Jewel-toned pendant lamps hang from the ceiling, casting a romantic glow. Couples and small groups dine and chat with a sultry soundtrack of Turkish music.
The Food
The menu offers traditional and contemporary Turkish dishes with several seafood options. Lahmacun, crispy flatbread topped with well-seasoned ground beef and vegetables, prepares taste buds for flavors to come. Manti (homemade tortellini in creamy yogurt with a dollop of tomato sauce) is a tangy take on tomato-cream sauce. Meat lovers savor tender marinated beef kabob atop fluffy rice pilaf; other entrees include grill-kissed tuna, herb-crusted salmon and salt-crusted sea bass. To finish: irresistibly warm, flaky baklava, oozing with buttery honey.
