Bright Mexican folk art, glazed tile work and exposed brick give this colorful neighborhood restaurant a vibrant feel, while friendly service and cheap prices keep the atmosphere comfortable--not to mention loud.

The Food
The regional Mexican menu offers plenty of favorites (flautas, quesadillas, tacos), but with an upscale tweak. Grab the plato surtido appetizer sampler, with guacamole spiked with serrano chile and lime, plus tender, tangy bay scallop ceviche on crispy chips, and cute masa cups stuffed with earthy mushrooms. Craving seafood? Fill tacos with a mound of smoky mahi-mahi, or try flaky, perfectly cooked grilled salmon spiced up with poblano and tomatillo corn sauce. Chicken breast with Chihuahua cheese and spicy corn is delicious, though in an oversalted poblano sauce. For dessert, try tres leches cake: milky, moist and delicious.
