The Scene
Sweatshirted regulars gorge on burgers and brews. Housed in the former Schulien's Restaurant site, which dates back more than 100 years, O'Donovan's is decorated with old photos of family and famous folks like Marilyn Monroe. A year-round beer garden, which is heated in winter, features tunes and TVs and draws khaki-casual college clowns, while a sidewalk cafe expands seating when weather permits.

The Draw
Inviting to families and young bar-goers alike, this spot offers up tunes from Fleetwood Mac to Audioslave. Cover bands perform typical crowd-pleasers, including Beatles and Clash, while magicians pull tricks on patrons Thursday through Sunday. Cocktails offer a few surprises, like a tasty vodka-charged electric lemonade, while nearly 20 taps fill pints. Although the bar doesn't attract your average martini crowd, new specials attempt to turn a new leaf among brew-or-two regulars, but the verdict is still out.
