The Scene
Lively conversation mingles with bubbly Japanese pop music at this bright, comfortable Uptown date spot. Friendly service and simple, traditional decor (lacquered wood tables, ivory walls, framed Japanese prints) project a welcoming, low-key vibe.

The Food
The menu covers a lot of territory, from an impressive list of maki and sashimi (including four varieties of tuna alone) to Korean classics like pa-jun, marinated short ribs and jap chai (noodles with beef and vegetables). Rolls are oversized and overstuffed; sample the sneakily spicy Clark Crunchy roll, with crab and cucumber topped with spicy mayo and shredded daikon, or ask the chef for one of his own special creations. Bibimbop is a crowd-pleaser too, sizzling in a stone bowl with beef or seafood, mixed vegetables and egg with spicy sauce. Other tempting offerings include katsu, noodle soups and teriyaki plates. Complimentary iced cinnamon ginseng tea makes for a refreshing, zesty finish.
