The Scene
A neon sign marks the entrance over a dated flagstone facade. Inside a retro feel persists in brass chandeliers, tinted mirrors, a drop ceiling and booths upholstered in reds and grays. It is uncommonly dim. A long bar is flanked by a raised partition featuring booths on either side. A number of other nooks promise privacy. Couples and families of every generation dine here, something that's reflected in the Bennett-to-Blink 182 playlist.
The Food
A surf-and-turf menu embraces old-school Italian. Starters, like clams casino, are nostalgic and well prepared, but a seared tuna starter with a tangy sesame-mustard glaze seems incongruous with the menu, and the carpaccio needs oil and lemon juice. Entrees are generous without being outrageous; steaks range from petite filets to bone-in ribeyes, and sticky-sauced pork ribs (a Biasetti's survivor) are available by the half or full slab. Strawberry cheesecake and chocolate mousse are classic desserts done right.
