The Scene
On the lower level, Lion Head's large wood bar, fireplace and picture windows offer respite from--but good views of--the busy locale. Upstairs, the Apartment is a whole different scene: Laid out like a flat, complete with bathtub, kitchen and two bedrooms with beds and a PlayStation, this weekend-only pad is a cool departure from the Irish bar-laced DePaul drinking scene.
The Draw
Two atmospheres, one stop. Downstairs, the public house-style bar kicks out tons of taps like Stella Artois, Guinness and Harp, with plenty of bottles to boot. Eats like shepherd's pie and fish and chips are available, and a juke blasts tunes ranging from Bryan Ferry to U2. The hipper loft sector takes a decidedly more danceable approach with DJs spinning current dance, hip-hop and retro music, and a full bar that cranks out mixed drinks at light speed.
