The Scene
From the owners of Meson Sabika, this freestanding faux stucco outpost is an inviting getaway of colorful tile, sunny yellow walls, warm woods and a fountain with mosaic surround. A landscaped terrace accommodates warm-weather diners. Service is well-meaning, but a bit rough around the edges.

The Food
A big selection of authentic Spanish small plates, hot and cold, is supplemented with intriguing salads and four share-able paellas. Briny marinated white anchovies draped over fresh tomatoes and avocados are tarted up with white wine vinaigrette; earthy, creamy baked goat cheese melds with tomato-basil sauce so tangy it's literally mouth-watering. Perfectly cooked-to-order grilled filet mignon is topped with salty slices of Serrano ham and bathed in a rich red wine shallot sauce. The Imperial paella is a generous catch of fresh seafood atop saffron-laced rice. Creamy flan is a classic close, or try dense chocolate terrine or rich cheese-orange tart.
