The Scene
More than 60 televisions line the upper walls of TJ's Sports Bar and Grill, attracting neighborhood regulars for predictable brews and a view of the game. The melancholic strains of Johnny Cash, R.E.M. and Wilco battle for ground with the six large projection screens that anchor the bar and seating areas. A wide-ranging menu covers traditional bar grub alongside the New York strip, and even offers some kid-friendly picks.
The Draw
Seating more than 250 avid fans, sheer numbers guarantee that you'll almost never have to jockey for a good spot to catch the game. Separate seating for non-smokers provides a welcome respite for tender lungs--although billiard, arcade and video poker players brave the clouds of smoke near the bar. Daily specials like trivia and live music temporarily distract patrons basking in the warm television glow.
