The Scene
This straight-shooting country smokehouse sports few pretensions, and fewer distractions. And no frills either, unless you're counting frosty mugs, an extra ''bone plate'' or Texas toast instead of white bread. Williamson brings barbeque craft front-and-center, with its pit fully exposed to view just inside the front door. This is the kind of place that regularly tickets a thousand pounds of ribs and a hundred gallons of beans on the Air Force ''mail run'' to Washington. The Food
Pork ribs make a good benchmark for measuring barbeque house success. And judging by the positioning of its Smoke Pit, Williamson Bros. has nothing to hide. Here you'll find perfectly cooked, carefully smoked ribs, heavy on the final application of sauce. Expect all the usual companion--and competing dishes; but keep your eyes on the main attraction.
