The Scene
Inside are high ceilings, vibrant murals and a sheet of water cascading behind an elegant sushi bar. The restaurant hums with activity but also offers quiet corners for more intimate dining. An eclectic mix of attractive business folk and civilians populate the dining room and bar, separated by large panes of glass. Service is friendly and detail oriented, with touches such as dark napkins for the darkly clad.
The Food
Goldfish delivers on both the classic and the innovative. The crab cake is exquisitely simple--sweet and juicy, perfectly seared, with minimal binding. The otherwise tasty Yukon roll with fried lobster tail suffers from being a tad overdone. Hong Kong style sea bass steamed with ginger offers a beautifully executed and vibrantly healthful entree, and baked stuffed flounder with crab meat boasts rich flavor. Dessert is a must. The strawberry Napolean deftly merges tart and creamy, with crisp layers between the custard.
