Qdoba is everything one wants in a fast burrito joint. Granted, it's a chain, but it's a good one. (And let's face it, I'm a sucker for a good burrito.)...read more

The Scene
Joining Willy's and Moe's in Atlanta's boutique burrito business, this Denver-based franchise prepares personalized Mexican fare quickly, giving Atlantans another option for a fast and cheap lunch. The small dining room has a few tables but lacks atmosphere, making takeout preferable.

The Food
Assembly-line service offers plenty of choices: pinto or black beans, pico de gallo or corn salsa, meat or vegetarian. Some patrons even go ''naked,'' ordering a burrito minus the wrap. Peppery mole sauce would fare better if it were creamier, but still nicely spices a chicken burrito. The menu's real winner is the well-seasoned shredded beef burrito. Guacamole tastes fresh, with a hint of lime, though onions dominate the avocado. The queso dip, heavy on habanero, is another crowd pleaser. Chocolate chip cookies are made daily and worth ordering if you have a sweet tooth.
