The Scene
This retro-modern storefront diner is a fun mix of colorful chrome and Formica tables, vintage kitchenware and 1950s advertising icons. A friendly, no-nonsense waitstaff keeps the coffee flowing.
The Food
A nice mix of homey standards and new-age inventions, the Java Jive menu specializes in sweet and savory breakfast favorites. Quality house-blend coffee, the usual assortment of caffeinated drinks and fresh-squeezed orange juice are highlights in their own right. Popular crunchy pecan and sweet gingerbread waffles are nicely matched with a dish of tart lemon curd. Reliable egg dishes come with chunky home fries or grits and a perfect fluffy biscuit or a chewy fresh bagel. Black Forest ham can be ordered as a side.
